On Friday's show, Rachel Maddow asked two telling questions.

First, why is it that the town hall meeting protests against the Rep. Paul Ryan House GOP budget plan are not getting the cable news coverage the Tea Partiers received two summers ago?

Second, and perhaps most important, why isn't the Congressional Progressive Caucus' budget plan, one which balances the budget more quickly than the House GOP plan while also including a comprehensive jobs program; a public option for health care; and investment in education, transportation, and infrastructure getting any coverage at all? (Click here to read a pdf of the Progressive plan in pdf form.)

Plus, this reduces the deficit more quickly than any other plan around–which I thought was the point of the exercise.

Yet, crickets. Makes one wonder about real media bias, doesn't it?

Here's Rachel Maddow signing the spotlight on these issues.
