Remember how the California Republican Party refused to extend taxes because of the economy? How Republicans went to a car sales lot the date the temporary taxes expired to celebrate their "achievement."
Guess what? The Sacramento Bee reports that Sacramento-area car dealers have not seen any impact from the lower vehicle license fee and sales tax.
Whoa. You can almost hear the talking point crumbling. Except, of course, it won't stop the Republicans from using it again.
But you know who has felt the impact of these cuts? Our schools and health and human services, which faced cuts and deferrals in the state budget because Republicans had only one priority: not extending those temporary taxes.
How much longer are we going to let the false tax cut idea dominate our politics?
