MARCH and APRIL MEETINGS CANCELLED

Lamorinda Democratic Club Members and Friends,

The LDC Board of Directors has decided to cancel our Thursday General Meeting, on March 12th and April 7th as well as our Coffee Club meetings until further notice.

In light of today’s news of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Contra Costa County, every community organization is or will be wrestling with decisions over whether to carry on with scheduled meetings and events.
We deliberated carefully.

We had already planned to change the way we serve drinks and provide food. But out of an abundance of caution, we decided to take the advice from experts to “cancel or postpone nonessential gatherings.” We felt it was important to honor our civic responsibility to help protect the most vulnerable members of the community.

A huge “thank you” to Tom Tarantino, who was all set to present our March program: The Political Power Of Twitter. Tom is currently Senior Public Policy Manager at Twitter, where he  leads Twitter’s global crisis response program, is responsible for U.S. state and city government relations at Twitter, and manages the Political Action Committee (#PAC). We will work with Tom to try to reschedule or explore other avenues to provide his presentation.

Best,
Tracy Brog
Lamorinda Democratic Club President

Please don’t forget to mark your calendars for these upcoming events!

LDC’s FIRST EVER RAUCOUS CAUCUS

Thursday, February 6 at 7 p.m.

Are you suffering from Caucus envy? Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be courted for your vote? Do you prefer your food on a stick? Well, here’s your chance! Come join the fun on Thursday, February 6th, at the Lamorinda Democratic Club’s Raucous Caucus. Cast a ballot for your favorite presidential primary candidate, or be persuaded to choose another. Be sure to renew your membership now, so you can participate in the caucus. 2020 members are also allowed and encouraged to invite one “member-guest” to participate in the caucus. For all non-members, whether caucus participants or observers, the suggested donation is $5. Doors will not open before 6:45 p.m.
