Lamorinda Democratic Club Members and Friends,

Early this month, at the California Democratic Convention, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi summed up, “California is strong, our principles inspire us to lift each other up and fight for the most vulnerable … You know what we say, we don’t agonize, we organize.”

“California Strong” was the theme of this year’s event. However, the concurrent announcement of a gubernatorial recall made it clear that our Democratic goal of a diverse, inclusive, clean and green, resilient California with a strong economy and more equitable opportunity, should not be taken for granted. It is Democratic clubs like ours that continue to provide the energy and grassroots organizers who keep the ball moving forward.

In the months ahead, Lamorinda Democratic Club Precinct Organizers will be educating and engaging Democratic voters in Lamorinda, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Danville, Concord, and Martinez.  When it is time to Get Out The Vote against the recall, we will not be agonizing; we will be organizing.

You are cordially invited and encouraged to join the LDC Precinct Organizing team: goteam@LDclub.org, the LDC Issues and Candidates Committee: issues@LDclub.org, or the Thursday Morning Coffee Club: membership@LDclub.org.

Thank you for your continuing membership, for staying engaged and connected, and for ensuring we stay California Strong.

Please join us for the next Lamorinda Democratic Club general meeting on Thursday, May 13 at 7 pm via Zoom.

We are excited to welcome Dean Henry Brady, from the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley,  for a presentation on “Policy and Politics in America, 2021.”

To all of you who are moms, or playing the role, or celebrating, or remembering your own mothers,
Happy Mothers’ Day.

Best,

Tracy Brog
Lamorinda Democratic Club President
